Sometimes everything has to go wrong before we appreciate Mr. Right

Brooke Ferguson had the perfect life—4.0 in pre-law, leader in a popular sorority, and a boyfriend headed to medical school with whom she planned a perfect future. It all fell apart when she found out she was pregnant. Yet what broke her was the death of her mom, the one who held her together through the storm her life had become.

Follow her journey to wholeness and faith as she takes her toddler from her hometown of Memphis, Tennessee and heads to central Florida—land of sunny days, home to "the happiest place on earth”—in search of peace and a new start.

Along the way, she realizes the image she’s created of perfect may be the very thing holding her back from genuine happiness. Can she let go and find herself, God, and love … will it last?

Coming Spring 2025!

“It is a truth universally acknowledged, that Mr. Darcy does not exist.”

Many a young woman has spent years looking for her perfect Mr. Darcy, but Kate Thomas knows better.  A 29 year old recently widowed southerner, she sets off to find herself on the other side of the ocean in the very country where Mr. Darcy’s life was penned.  Looking only to escape reminders of her heartache, Kate’s journey takes her places she never thought she’d go -- finding faith, love, and family.

This is not a P & P retelling, but the story of a woman’s journey to discover what real love is.

A missionary, A pendant, Love

Most women dream of Prince Charming sweeping them away. Not Megan Taylor. God’s call to leave North Carolina to be a missionary came at a young age. It was her mom’s cancer and death that turned those plans upside down. Megan finds herself in London with several men vying for her attention while she finishes her mother’s book on Egyptian antiquities. She soon has more chaos in her life than just the questions of where God wants to send her and if she should date.

Her determination and focus while preparing to be a missionary had left no room for romance. How likely was it that she’d find a man with the same calling, much less one she loved? Besides, she had her Jane Austen novels when she wanted romance. She could read Sense and Sensibility every year of her life and never tire of it. In it she always rooted for Colonel Brandon and found him more appealing than the immature Willoughby.

After inheriting an antique necklace, Megan gets caught up in mystery, danger, and intrigue. An unlikely partner joins her search for answers and she wonders if there’s romance in her future after all.  Will she recognize her own Colonel Brandon? Can they get to the bottom of things before someone gets hurt and can she still fulfill her life’s calling?

This is the second book in the Not Quite Series but it can be read as a standalone. If you have read Not Quite Mr. Darcy, you will enjoy some of the characters and places from it.
